  • Embark on a cutting-edge journey with our workshop, where you'll dive into the transformative world of AI, getting acquainted with pioneering platforms like ChatGPT, ClaudeAI, Bard, and Bing. Discover innovative ways to amplify institutional research practices through AI, delve into the intricacies of prompt engineering, and accelerate your learning curve within new programs and coding paradigms. Participants will also gain experience in writing and debugging analytical code, culminating with hands-on experiences where beginners will harness the power of AI to support environmental scanning and perform practical data analysis using Python. Join us to unlock the full potential of AI in Institutional Research and Analytics!
  • The core of Mission Fulfillment as defined by NWCCU’s Standards for Accreditation is continuous improvement in equitable student learning and student achievement. But where does “continuous” improvement start? In this hands-on workshop, participants will develop an actionable plan for a year-long project that will result in improved effectiveness at their institution.
  • Do you wish you had time to analyze open-ended responses from surveys? Does the idea of gathering focus group data appeal to you until you start wondering how you’ll find the time to analyze the data? If so, you’re not alone. Many people like the depth and context that qualitative data provides, but they avoid using it because they think they lack the time or expertise to analyze it. We believe that anyone can develop useful information from qualitative data relatively quickly. In this workshop, we’ll review two ways to quickly analyze qualitative data - no fancy software required. One approach uses Microsoft Excel and takes a little more time, while the other approach might best be described as close reading. We’ll also share the report format that we’ve used for qualitative analyses over the past few years. Finally, we’ll distribute sample qualitative data and ask participants to do some “quick and dirty” theming of their own.
  • I will not be attending any pre-conference workshops.
